Hi, I’m Chance Munroe, born in Dixon in 1995. I’ve always been drawn to making connections and seeking growth opportunities. After graduating from Oregon High School in 2013, I pursued higher education at Sauk Valley Community College, earning my AA in Political Science in 2015. Eager to expand my knowledge further, I enrolled at National University and proudly graduated in 2023 with my BA in Strategic Communications.
In 2018, I embarked on a beautiful journey, marrying my partner on a family farm outside of Oregon. It was a momentous occasion that solidified my bond with the community where I grew up. The following year, my spouse and I decided to explore new horizons, leading us to Colorado Springs. Though the mountains were breathtaking, our hearts yearned for the familiarity of our hometown, family, friends and corn fields, prompting our return to Illinois in 2023.
My professional journey has been diverse, with experiences in retail, healthcare, and management. Through these roles, I’ve learned the importance of active listening and fostering meaningful connections. Now, as the Executive Director of the Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce, I’m dedicated to nurturing existing partnerships and creating new ones to strengthen our local business community. I believe in collaborative growth and strive to create an environment where businesses and residents alike can thrive.
Outside of work, I cherish time with my family and pets, enjoy outdoor adventures, and engage in volunteer work to give back to my community. With integrity, empathy, and a vision for positive change, I’m committed to making a difference in the place I proudly call home.
