The Oregon Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking nominations for Volunteer / Citizen / Business / Civic Leader / New Business of the Year.

 

The awards are presented to individuals or a Chamber business or organization that has made an extraordinary contribution to the welfare and progress of our community.  The awards will be presented at the Chamber's Annual Dinner.

 

Following is the criteria for the awards:

 

Volunteer of the Year

Selection will be based on nominee's voluntary local community involvement and service.  This can include work for charities, community groups or other organizations providing valuable community service.

 

Citizen of the Year

This award will go to someone making a powerful difference in the community in ways that inspire others to volunteer. Selection will be based on nominee’s voluntary local community involvement and service. This can include heroic acts within the past year as well as work for charities, community groups or other organizations proving a valuable community service.

 

Business of the Year

A local company will be recognized for its own community involvement and/or by encouraging employee volunteer efforts in community activities. Selected business must be an Oregon Chamber member in good standing. Submission should explain how the company has contributed to the betterment of the community and the impact of their policies and procedures on employee volunteerism.


Civic Leadership Award

(presented to a civic, charitable or non-profit organization).

*Chamber Membership Required

*Variety and quality of community engagement activities sponsored/supported/hosted by the organization

*Collaboration with other community groups and organizations

*Overall impact both internal and external to the community


Welcome to Oregon Award

(for new businesses in operation less than 2 years)

*Chamber Membership Required

*Economic, social investment in the community (including employment opportunities for youth and adults)

*Owner/Employee engagement in community organizations and community leadership

*Support of local community events and activities

     *Providing in kind services

     *Donations

     *marketing/promotion of community events activities via social media

     *On site presence of brochures

     *Exhibits

     *Advertising Campaigns

     *Sponsorships

     *Etc
